What CSV to JSON does
CSV to JSON reads a table with a header row and produces a list of JSON objects, one per row. It detects whether the file uses commas, semicolons, tabs or pipes, keeps quotes and line breaks inside cells, and reads files saved by Excel in UTF-8 or Windows-1252. Optionally it converts numbers and true/false, and rebuilds objects from dotted columns.

Frequently asked questions
How are numbers handled?
With value conversion on, a number is written as a number only if it reads back the same: 007 or a 20-digit number stay as text so no zeros or precision are lost. Empty cells become null.
What about empty or repeated headers?
They get a name of their own (column3, name_2) so no column is lost. Rows with fewer cells are filled with null.
Can I get nested objects?
Yes. Columns like address.city or tags.0 become objects and lists. If a column clashes with another one, it is kept as is so no data is lost.
