Spreadsheet converter
Convert between Excel (XLSX, XLS), OpenDocument (ODS) and CSV: every sheet, value and formula, in your browser.
Processed on your device: your file never leaves your computer
Up to 50 files, 50 MB max each.
What Spreadsheet converter does
Convert spreadsheets between Excel (XLSX and the older XLS), OpenDocument (ODS, from LibreOffice) and CSV or TSV. Turn a CSV exported by some system into an Excel file ready to work with, or an Excel file into CSV to load into another app. When reading a CSV the separator is detected and numbers with a decimal comma are recognized; when writing one you can choose comma or semicolon so that Excel in other languages opens it correctly.
Limits
- Up to 50 files at a time, up to 50 MB each.
- With Pro: up to 500 files per batch.
- A job that takes longer than 2 minutes is stopped so it doesn't freeze your device.
- Processed in your browser: your files are never uploaded to a server.
Frequently asked questions
What is kept?
Every sheet, the values (text, numbers, dates) and formulas with their last result. Visual formatting is not kept: colors, fonts, borders, column widths, charts and images.
Why does Excel show broken accents or everything in one column?
Excel in many European and Latin American languages expects a semicolon separator and a decimal comma. Choose “Semicolon” and keep UTF-8 with BOM checked so accented letters display correctly on double-click.
What happens to a workbook with several sheets when converting to CSV?
A CSV holds one table, so one CSV is made per sheet (with the sheet name in the file name), or only the first sheet's if you uncheck the option.
Is there a size limit?
Up to 50 MB per file and 2 million filled cells, because everything is processed in your browser's memory. Your files are not uploaded to any server.
