Up to 50 files, 200 MB max each.

What Add a watermark to a PDF does

Add a watermark to a PDF stamps text on the pages to mark a copy, a draft or a confidential document, or to identify who you sent it to. Choose the text, the layout (one large diagonal, a horizontal line across the center or a repeated pattern covering the whole sheet), the size, color and opacity, and whether it goes on every page or only some. Accented letters work, and so do Chinese characters and emoji.

Limits

  • Up to 50 files at a time, up to 200 MB each.
  • With Pro: files up to 1 GB and up to 500 per batch.
  • A job that takes longer than 5 minutes is stopped so it doesn't freeze your device.
  • Processed in your browser: your files are never uploaded to a server.

Frequently asked questions

Does the watermark hide the content?

It is drawn on top with the opacity you choose: at 20–30% the document's text stays easy to read.

Can it be removed later?

It is written into the pages as content, so it can't be removed with one click. Still, someone with a PDF editor could take it out: it doesn't replace a signature or password protection.

Can I mark only some pages?

Yes. Choose "Only some" and type pages or ranges, for example 1, 3-5. With several PDFs, the pages apply to each one.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The watermark is added in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
