What Sign PDF does

Sign PDF lets you put your handwritten signature on a contract, an authorization or a form without printing or scanning it. Draw it with your finger or mouse, or upload a photo of your signature on paper (the white background is removed for you). Then pick the page, tap where it goes and adjust its size. The signature is saved as an image on the page, with transparency. It is a visible signature, not a digital signature with a certificate.

Limits

  • One file at a time, up to 200 MB.
  • With Pro: files up to 1 GB and up to 500 per batch.
  • A job that takes longer than 5 minutes is stopped so it doesn't freeze your device.
  • Processed in your browser: your files are never uploaded to a server.

Frequently asked questions

Is it legally valid?

It depends on the process and the country. It is equivalent to pasting a scanned signature: fine for many private agreements, but it is not a certified digital signature like one from a token or an official certificate. If a digital signature is required, this doesn't replace it.

Can I use a photo of my signature?

Yes. Sign on white paper, take a well-lit photo and upload it: we remove the white paper and trim the edges so only the stroke remains.

Can I move the signature with the keyboard?

Yes. Select the signature with Tab and move it with the arrow keys; hold Shift to move it faster.

Are my signature or my PDF uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser: neither the signature nor the document leaves your device, and we don't keep your signature.
