Trim Video

Cut an MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM video and keep the part you want, in your browser.

Processed on your device: your file never leaves your computer

One file, 200 MB max.

What Trim Video does

Keep only the moment that matters: the goal, the greeting or a part of a recorded meeting. Play the video, mark the start and end with “Use current position” (or type the times) and download the clip in the same format. Exact mode cuts at the precise frame by re-encoding the video; fast mode copies without re-encoding, in seconds and losslessly, starting at the key frame before the start. Everything happens on your device: the video isn't uploaded to any server.

Limits

  • One file at a time, up to 200 MB.
  • With Pro: files up to 500 MB and up to 500 per batch.
  • A job that takes longer than 30 minutes is stopped so it doesn't freeze your device.
  • Processed in your browser: your files are never uploaded to a server.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between exact and fast?

Exact starts right where you marked, but it has to re-encode the video (it takes longer and compresses again at high quality). Fast copies the video as it is, so it takes seconds and loses nothing, but it can only start at a key frame: the result may begin up to a few seconds earlier.

How do I find the right moment?

Play the video and pause where you want; “Use current position” copies that time into the field. You can also type minutes:seconds, for example 1:23.5.

Can I remove a part in the middle?

For now one clip is kept at a time. To remove something in the middle, trim both parts and join them with “Join videos”.

Is there a limit?

One video at a time, up to 200 MB on the free plan (500 MB with Pro) and 2 hours long. If your browser can't play the file (for example MKV or H.264 in some), you can still type the times.
