Processed on your device: your file never leaves your computer

or click to choose them from your device

One file, 200 MB max.

What Trim audio does

Keep only the part you need from a song, a voice message, a podcast or a recording: pick the start and end by typing minutes and seconds or with the player ("Use current position"), add a fade in or fade out if you like, and download the result as MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A or AIFF. The cut is sample-accurate and happens on your device: the file isn't uploaded to any server.

Limits

  • One file at a time, up to 200 MB.
  • With Pro: files up to 500 MB and up to 500 per batch.
  • A job that takes longer than 15 minutes is stopped so it doesn't freeze your device.
  • Processed in your browser: your files are never uploaded to a server.

Frequently asked questions

How do I pick the exact section?

Play the audio, pause where you want it to begin and press "Use current position" next to Start; do the same for End. You can also type the times as minutes:seconds with tenths, for example 0:12.5 or 1:05.

What are the fades for?

The fade in raises the volume from silence over the first 2 seconds and the fade out lowers it to silence over the last 2, so the clip doesn't start or stop abruptly (handy for ringtones). On short clips each fade takes at most half of it.

Does it lose quality?

With WAV, FLAC or AIFF, no: the clip is saved losslessly (in 16 bits). MP3, M4A and OGG are compressed again at the quality you choose; 192 kbps is practically indistinguishable from the original.

Is there a limit?

One file at a time, up to 200 MB on the free plan (500 MB with Pro) and 3 hours long. It reads the same formats as "Audio converter"; M4A/AAC depends on your browser having that decoder.
