Change video speed
Speed up or slow down an MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM video (0.25× to 4×), in your browser.
Processed on your device: your file never leaves your computer
Up to 50 files, 200 MB max each.
What Change video speed does
Speed up a long tutorial, a screen recording or a time-lapse, or slow down a play or a funny moment. Pick a speed between 0.25× and 4× and decide whether to keep the sound (sped up or slowed down, higher or lower in pitch, like a tape) or remove it. The result downloads in the same format as the original, and you can process several videos at once. Everything happens on your device: the video isn't uploaded to any server.
Limits
- Up to 50 files at a time, up to 200 MB each.
- With Pro: files up to 500 MB and up to 500 per batch.
- A job that takes longer than 30 minutes is stopped so it doesn't freeze your device.
- Processed in your browser: your files are never uploaded to a server.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to the sound?
If you keep it, it speeds up or slows down with the picture, so its pitch changes: at 2× voices sound higher and at 0.5× lower. If you'd rather have a silent video (to add music later, for example), choose “Remove sound”.
Is the slow motion smooth?
Each frame is shown for longer, so at 0.25× a 30 frames-per-second video plays at about 7.5. For smooth slow motion, record at 60 frames per second or more. When speeding up, extra frames are dropped so the result stays at 60 per second at most.
Is quality lost?
The video is re-encoded at high quality, in the same format as the original (MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM). The resolution doesn't change.
Is there a limit?
Up to 200 MB per video on the free plan (500 MB with Pro), 2 hours long and 30 minutes of processing per file. Your browser has to be able to decode the video (H.264 isn't decoded in some browsers without proprietary codecs).
