Unix timestamp converter

Convert Unix timestamps in seconds or milliseconds to date and time in any time zone, and dates to timestamps.

Processed on your device: your file never leaves your computer

What Unix timestamp converter does

The timestamp converter turns Unix timestamps (seconds, milliseconds, microseconds or nanoseconds) into readable dates and dates into timestamps. Paste one per line: it detects the unit from the number of digits and also accepts ISO 8601 dates (2023-11-14T22:13:20Z) or email-style dates (RFC 2822). For each line you get the seconds, the milliseconds, the date in UTC and the time in the time zone you choose, with its UTC offset and daylight saving time applied.

Limits

  • A job that takes longer than 1 minute is stopped so it doesn't freeze your device.
  • Processed in your browser: your files are never uploaded to a server.

Frequently asked questions

How does it know whether a number is in seconds or milliseconds?

From the number of digits: up to 11 is seconds, up to 14 milliseconds, up to 17 microseconds and more is nanoseconds. If your data differs, choose the unit yourself.

Which zone is used for a date without a time zone?

The zone chosen in the selector. If the date includes Z or an offset such as -03:00, that one is used.

What about daylight saving time?

It is applied with your browser's time zone database. If a local time happens twice when clocks go back, the first one is used.
