Resize image
Change the size of your images in pixels, by percentage or to each social network's dimensions.
Processed on your device: your file never leaves your computer
Up to 50 files, 50 MB max each.
What Resize image does
Resize image changes the width and height of your photos: type the pixels you want (keeping the proportions or not), a percentage, or pick a ready-made social media size such as an Instagram square post, a story or a YouTube thumbnail. When the proportions don't match, you can crop the edges or add borders so nothing of the photo is lost. It works with JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF and HEIC, in batches, and you can change the format at the same time. Everything is processed in your browser.
Limits
- Up to 50 files at a time, up to 50 MB each.
- With Pro: up to 500 files per batch.
- A job that takes longer than 5 minutes is stopped so it doesn't freeze your device.
- Processed in your browser: your files are never uploaded to a server.
Frequently asked questions
Is an image smaller than the requested size enlarged?
In pixel mode with proportions, no, unless you tick “Allow enlarging smaller images”, since enlarging adds no detail. Social media sizes do enlarge it to fill the format.
What if the photo doesn't have the social network's proportions?
“Crop the edges” keeps the center of the photo and crops what doesn't fit. “Add borders” fits the whole photo and fills the sides (white for JPG, transparent for PNG, WEBP and AVIF).
Is there a maximum size?
The result can have up to about 36 megapixels (for example 6928 × 5196); larger requests are scaled down keeping the shape. Each file can be up to 50 MB.
Does it work with animated GIFs?
Only the first frame is resized. A video-to-GIF tool for animated GIFs will come later.
