What Convert fonts: TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2 does
The font converter gets typefaces ready for the web and the desktop. WOFF2 compresses the font with Brotli and is usually 30% smaller than WOFF and half the original TTF, so your site loads faster; WOFF covers very old browsers. The other way round, if you only have a WOFF or WOFF2, you get the TTF or OTF to install on Windows, macOS or Linux. Glyphs, metrics and names don’t change: only the wrapper does.

Frequently asked questions
Is quality lost?
No. WOFF and WOFF2 are compressed forms of the same font: back to TTF or OTF you get the same glyphs, metrics, kerning and names.
Can I convert OTF to TTF?
No: this tool doesn’t change the outline type (CFF ↔ TrueType), only the container. An OTF (CFF) font comes out as .otf; desktop apps install it just like a TTF.
Can I use any font on my website?
It depends on its license. Many commercial fonts forbid converting them or using them on the web; Google Fonts and other OFL-licensed fonts allow it. Check the license before publishing.
Are my fonts uploaded?
No. Conversion happens in your browser and the files never leave your device.
