3D model converter
Convert 3D models (STL, OBJ, PLY, GLB, glTF, 3MF, COLLADA and FBX) to STL, OBJ, PLY or GLB in your browser, with nothing to install.
Processed on your device: your file never leaves your computer
Up to 50 files, 200 MB max each.
What 3D model converter does
Move a model from one format to another to 3D print it, open it in other software or publish it on the web: STL for printers and slicers, OBJ and PLY for editors and scanners, and GLB (binary glTF) for the web, augmented reality and game engines. It reads STL (binary and ASCII), OBJ, PLY, GLB, self-contained glTF, 3MF, COLLADA (.dae) and FBX 7.x (binary and ASCII), and keeps the geometry, where each part sits and, when the output format supports them (PLY and GLB), the vertex colors. You can convert several files at once. Everything happens on your device: the models aren't uploaded to any server.
Limits
- Up to 50 files at a time, up to 200 MB each.
- With Pro: up to 500 files per batch.
- A job that takes longer than 5 minutes is stopped so it doesn't freeze your device.
- Processed in your browser: your files are never uploaded to a server.
Frequently asked questions
Are materials and textures kept?
The shape is kept and, in PLY and GLB, the vertex colors. STL stores no colors or materials, and the OBJ is written without an .mtl file, so textures and materials are lost in those outputs. From GLB to GLB the materials are kept.
Does the size or orientation of the model change?
No: coordinates are copied as they are, without scaling or rotating. Note that many printing programs use Z as up while glTF uses Y, so after STL → GLB the model may appear lying down; rotate it in your viewer if needed.
My .gltf fails because of separate files. What can I do?
A .gltf can depend on a .bin and external images, which we can't fetch. Export it as GLB (a single file) or as glTF with everything embedded. glTF compressed with Draco or meshopt can't be read yet.
Is there a limit?
Up to 200 MB and 3 million triangles per model, and 5 minutes of processing per file. Point clouds (PLY without faces) can't be converted to meshes.
Can I convert 3MF, COLLADA or FBX files?
Yes, as input files: their geometry, parts and positions (and the vertex colors of COLLADA and FBX) are read and saved as STL, OBJ, PLY or GLB. No 3MF, COLLADA or FBX files are written, and their textures and animations aren't read. 3MF and COLLADA files can hold up to 100 MB of XML (uncompressed), and FBX files must be version 7.0 or later.
